A strategic partnership agreement was inked between Chinese online travel agency Trip.com Group and Malaysia’s Capital A Berhad on Friday, exploring collaboration in businesses including air tickets, hotels, scenic spot tickets, rides and payment solutions.

The cooperation is an extension of their previous partnership, which was reached in 2020. It will leverage Trip’s high-quality products, services and innovative solutions, and expand Capital A’s business scope and product categories, according to Sun Jie, CEO of Chinese online travel agency Trip.com Group.

“We are excited to join forces with Capital A to offer our customers better products and services, and constantly to improve their travel experience,” said Sun.

The two companies plan to fully exploit the resources of their platforms to provide customers with a premium travel experience and realize high efficiency operation and long-term growth, said Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A.

“China is one of the most important markets for AirAsia’s growth plans,” said Fernandes, adding that the partnership will go beyond AirAsia’s flight promotion and services.

Formerly known as AirAsia Group, Capital A is the parent company of low-cost airliner AirAsia.
